Another young woman, who turns out to be princess Álfsól, reminds Hjálmþér of how, when she was enchanted as Vargeisa the finngálkn, he obtained the sword Snarvendill from her for a kiss, which in turn saved her from the enchantment.
[5-8]: The admonition to the hero to be generous is similar to Hervǫr’s advice to Hjálmþér in HjǪ 27.
