Lat. parallel: (Dist. II, 23) Successus pravos noli tu ferre moleste: / indulget fortuna malis, ut laedere possit ‘Do not take badly unworthy successes; fortune indulges the evil that it may wound them’. These ll. are recorded in 1199ˣ together with some other sts which fall outside the usual order of the disticha. This st. is included here in accordance with the order in 624 and the Lat. text.
