Kari Ellen Gade (ed.) 2007, ‘Anonymous Poems, Drápa af Máríugrát 44’ in Margaret Clunies Ross (ed.), Poetry on Christian Subjects. Skaldic Poetry of the Scandinavian Middle Ages 7. Turnhout: Brepols, p. 790.
‘Finn eg minn þann fögnuð annan;
fæddi eg Krist, er heiminn græddi,
jólanótt að eins guðs vilja
öllum lýð til sálu prýði.
Síðan reikna eg þann inn þriðja,
þeyja borgar páskamorginn
ríkr og fróðr er reis af dauða
ræsir ítr, sem mátta eg líta.
‘Finn eg þann annan fögnuð minn: eg fæddi Krist, er heiminn græddi, jólanótt að vilja eins guðs til prýði sálu öllum lýð. Síðan reikna eg þann inn þriðja, er {ítr ræsir {borgar þeyja}}, ríkr og fróðr, reis af dauða páskamorginn, sem eg mátta líta.
‘I find that to be my second joy: I gave birth to Christ, who delivered the world, on Christmas night by the will of the one God for the glory of the soul of all people. Then I count that as the third, when {the splendid ruler {of the stronghold of warm winds}} [SKY/HEAVEN > = God (= Christ)], powerful and wise, rose from death on Easter morning, as I could see.

Notes: [3-4]: Wrightson assigns the phrases að vilja eins guðs til prýði sálu öllum lýð ‘by the will of one God to the glory of the soul of all people’ to the previous rel. cl. — [7] er ‘when’: Wrightson treats this as the verbal form er (3rd pers. sg. pres. indic.) ‘is’ and takes it with ríkr og fróðr ‘(he) is powerful and wise’. According to that interpretation, which is less convincing from the point of view of w.o. and metre, the second cl. in the helmingr is a main cl. rather than a bound cl.
