We were not afraid after {warlike trees of the weapon} [WARRIORS] came to the island. [Our] men piled up a strong wall in front of the cliff; I also took part.

Notes: [All]: As with the previous stanza, there is no close correspondence with the prose saga. There the giants, who are Oddr’s party’s opponents at this point, mass on a headland opposite the island and no mention is made of building a defensive wall in front of a cliff on the island.
