Vǫlsunga niðr         vápn gollbúit.

{Niðr Vǫlsunga} réð senda mér gollbúit vápn of svalan ægi.
‘The descendant of the Vǫlsungar <legendary family> [RULER] sent me a gold-adorned weapon across the cool sea.
