armleggs (Grana farmi).
{Gollstríðir} verpr {glóðum armleggs}; konungr gefr rauðan auð; {eyðir óþjóðar} bregðr {farmi Grana}.
‘The gold-harmer [GENEROUS RULER] throws embers of the arm [GOLD]; the king gives red wealth; the destroyer of evildoers [JUST RULER] flings the load of Grani <legendary horse> [GOLD]. ’
The helmingr is quoted in SnE (Skm) to illustrate how ‘gold’ is used in kennings for ‘man’ (here, gollstríðir ‘gold-harmer’).
Ms. B has a lacuna after the first word of l. 2 (gefr ‘gives’).
