Það vor hið næsta eftir er þeir voru vegnir um haustið í Laufási Þórðarsynir og Arnþrúðarsynir fór Guðmundur prestur Arason til vistar til Staðar í Skagafjörð því að Kolbeinn Arnórsson bauð honum þangað. Og eftir þing sendir Páll biskup menn sunnan eftir Brandi biskupi og Guðmundi presti Arasyni að þeir skyldu koma suður í Skálaholt þegar eftir þingið. En það hafði ráðið verið á þinginu að taka upp helgan dóm Þorláks biskups úr jörðu. Og fara þeir eftir þingið og koma í Skálaholt Margrétarmessu. En í þjónustugerð þeirri er ger var guði til dýrðar og hinum sæla Þorláki biskupi þá setti Páll biskup Guðmund Arason næst þeim biskupunum í allri þeirri þjónustu og létu hann þerra kistunni með sér er hún var í kirkju borin. Og hann réð mjög fyrir hvað sungið var er heilagur dómurinn var upp tekinn.
