The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Þá er þeir Sigvaldi jarl reru inn undir hólmann þá sáu það
þeir Þorkell dyrðill af Trananum og aðrir skipstjórnarmenn,
þeir er með honum fóru, að jarl sneri sínum skipum undir
hólmann. Þá hlóðu þeir og seglum og reru eftir honum og
kölluðu til þeirra, spurðu hví þeir fóru svo.

Jarl segir að hann vill bíða Ólafs konungs "og er meiri von
að ófriður sé fyrir oss."

Létu þeir þá fljóta skipin þar til er Þorkell nefja kom með
Orminn skamma og þau þrjú skip er honum fylgdu og voru þeim
sögð hin sömu tíðindi. Hlóðu þeir þá og sínum seglum og létu
fljóta og biðu Ólafs konungs. En þá er konungurinn sigldi
innan að hólmanum þá reri allur herinn út á sundið fyrir þá.
En er þeir sáu það þá báðu þeir konunginn sigla leið sína en
leggja eigi til orustu við svo mikinn her.

Konungur svarar hátt og stóð upp í lyftingunni: "Láti ofan
seglið. Ekki skulu mínir menn hyggja á flótta. Eg hefi aldrei
flúið í orustu. Ráði guð fyrir lífi mínu en aldrei mun eg á
flótta leggja."

Var svo gert sem konungur mælti. Svo segir Hallfreður:

Geta skal máls þess, er mæla

menn að vopna sennu

dólga fangs við drengi

dáðöflgan gram kváðu.

Baða hertryggðar hyggja

hnekkir sína rekka,

þess lifa þjóðar sessa

þróttar orð, á flótta.
