Hákon jarl gekk að eiga konu þá er hét Þóra, dóttir Skaga
Skoftasonar, ríks manns. Þóra var allra kvinna fríðust.
Þeirra synir voru Sveinn og Hemingur. Bergljót hét dóttir
þeirra er síðan átti Einar þambarskelfir.
Hákon jarl var kvinnamaður mikill og átti mörg börn.
Ragnhildur hét dóttir hans. Hana gifti hann Skofta Skagasyni
bróður Þóru. Jarl unni Þóru svo mikið að hann gerði sér svo
miklu kærri en aðra menn frændur Þóru og var þó Skofti mágur
hans mest metinn af öllum frændum hennar. Jarl veitti honum
stórar veislur á Mæri. En hvert sinn er þeir voru í leiðangri
þá skyldi Skofti leggja skip sitt næst skipi jarls en engum
skyldi það hlýða að leggja skip milli skipa þeirra.
