Um sumarið sigldi Sigurður konungur út um Grikklandshaf til
Jórsalalands, fór síðan út til Jórsalaborgar og hitti þar
Baldvina Jórsalakonung. Baldvini konungur fagnaði Sigurði
konungi forkunnarvel og reið með honum út til árinnar
Jórdanar og aftur til Jórsalaborgar.

Svo segir Einar Skúlason:

Húf lét hilmir svífa

hafkaldan, lof skaldi

esat um allvalds risnu

einfalt, í Grikksalti,

áðr við einkar breiða

úlfnestir skip festi,

öld beið öll með stilli,

Akrsborg, feginsmorgun.

Get eg þess er gramr fór vitja,

glyggs, Jórsala byggðar,

meðr vitut öðling æðra,

ógnblíðr, und sal víðum,

og leyghati laugast,

leyft ráð var það, náði

hauka fróns í hreinu

hvatr Jórdanar vatni.

Sigurður konungur dvaldist mjög lengi á Jórsalalandi um
haustið og öndurðan vetur.
