Sigurður og Ingi höfðu ráðið Noregi sex vetur. Það vor kom Eysteinn vestan af Skotlandi. Hann var sonur Haralds gilla. Árni sturla og Þorleifur Brynjólfsson og Kolbeinn hrúga, þeir höfðu farið vestur um haf eftir Eysteini og fylgdu honum í land og héldu þegar norður til Þrándheims og tóku Þrændir við honum og var hann til konungs tekinn á Eyraþingi um gagndaga svo að hann skyldi hafa þriðjung Noregs við bræður sína. Sigurður og Ingi voru þá austur í landi. Fóru þá menn í milli þeirra konunganna og sættu þá svo að Eysteinn skyldi hafa þriðjung ríkis. Engi voru skírsli ger Eysteini til faðernis nema því var trúað er Haraldur konungur hafði til sagt.


Bjaðök hét móðir Eysteins konungs og kom hún í Noreg með honum.
