Haraldur gráfeldur fór á einu sumri með her sinn norður til
Bjarmalands og herjaði þar og átti orustu mikla við Bjarma á
Vínubakka. Þar hafði Haraldur konungur sigur og drap mart
fólk, herjaði þá víða um landið og fékk ófa mikið fé.

Þess getur Glúmur Geirason:

Austr rauð jöfra þrýstir

orðrakkr fyr bý norðan

brand, þar er bjarmskar kindir,

brennanda, sá eg renna.

Gott hlaut gumna sættir,

geirveðr, í för þeiri,

öðlingi fékkst ungum,

orð, á Vínu borði.

Sigurður konungur slefa kom til bús Klypps hersis. Hann var
sonur Þórðar Hörða-Kárasonar. Hann var ríkur maður og
kynstór. Klyppur var þá eigi heima en Ólöf kona hans tók vel
við konungi og var þar veisla góð og drykkjur miklar.

Ólöf kona Klypps hersis var Ásbjarnardóttir, systir
Járn-Skeggja norðan af Yrjum. Hreiðar var bróðir Ásbjarnar,
faðir Styrkárs, föður Eindriða, föður Einars þambarskelfis.

Konungur gekk um nóttina til hvílu Ólafar og lá þar að óvilja
hennar. Síðan fór konungur í brott.

Eftir um haustið fóru þeir Haraldur konungur og Sigurður
bróðir hans upp á Vörs og stefndu þar þing við bændur. En á
þinginu veittu bændur þeim atför og vildu drepa þá en þeir
komust undan og fóru í brott síðan. Fór Haraldur konungur í
Harðangur en Sigurður konungur fór á Alreksstaði.

En er það spyr Klyppur hersir þá heimtast þeir saman frændur
og veita atferð konungi. Var höfðingi fyrir ferðinni Vémundur
völubrjótur. En er þeir koma á bæinn þá ganga þeir að
konungi. Klyppur lagði konung með sverði í gegnum og varð það
bani hans en þegar í stað drap Erlingur gamli Klypp.
