Hrólfs saga kraka 10 — ed. not skaldic
Not published: do not cite (Hrólf ch. 10)
The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):
Helgi konungr átti hring, er mikil ágæti fylgdi, ok þeir
bræðr vildu hann báðir eiga ok Signý, systir þeira. Hróarr
konungr kom eitt sinn í ríki Helga konungs, bróður síns.
Gerir Helgi konungr prýðiliga veislu í móti honum.
Hróarr konungr mælti: "Þú munt vera okkar meiri maðr, en
fyrir þá sök, at ek hefi staðfest mik í Norðimbralandi, þá
ann ek þér vel þessa ríkis, er vit eigum báðir, ef þú vilt
miðla mér nokkuru lausafé. Vil ek fá hringinn þann, sem bestr
gripr er í þinni eigu ok vit vildum báðir eiga."
Helgi sagði: "Eigi sómir annat, frændi, en þú eigir hringinn
víst."
Við þessi ummæli þeira gleðjast báðir. Fekk Helgi konungr
Hrórari konungi, bróður sínum, nú hringinn. Ferr nú Hróarr
konungr á burt ok heim í ríki sitt ok sest um kyrrt.
