Þess er nú við getið að hlutur sá fannst í hafnarmarki Þórðar
er þvígit vinveittlegra þótti. Það voru karlar tveir og hafði
annar hött blán á höfði. Þeir stóðu lútir og horfði annar
eftir öðrum. Það þótti illur fundur og mæltu menn að hvorskis
hlutur væri góður þeirra er þar stóðu og enn verri þess er
fyrir stóð.
Þá kvað Björn vísu:
Standa stýrilundar
staðar ...
Glíkr er geira sækir
gunnsterkr að því verki.
Stendr af stála lundi
styrr Þórröði fyrri.
Þórði þótti ill sú tiltekja og hneisa er níð var reist í
landi hans og hafði þetta á hendur Birni. Og eigi þótti honum
yfirbót í vísunni er Björn orti og reið nú um vorið eftir til
Bjarnar við sex tigu manna og stefndi honum til alþingis um
níðreising og vísu.
Enn ræddu það vinir þeirra að þeir mundu heima sættast heldur
en færa svo ljótt mál til alþingis. Björn vill það eigi og
koma til þings og sættust þar á málið og hlaut Björn að
gjalda þrjár merkur silfurs fyrir níðreising og vísu, fara
heim og eru nú sáttir að kalla og er nú kyrrt tvo vetur svo
að ekki er í frásögn fært.
