Notes: [2] gjöra ... er: The internal rhyme is skothending rather than aðalhending (-ör- : but the poet could have used the form giera ‘do’. — [2] eð ‘which’: For this conjunction, see Fritzner: eð. — [4] síðan ‘later’: The ms. reading siðir (m. nom. pl.) ‘morals’ makes no sense in this context and the long <í> is ensured by the internal rhyme (-íð- : -íð). Earlier eds (except Kahle 1898) read síðan ‘later’ in 721. — [6] aktaz ... sagt: Note the internal rhyme -akt- : -agt.
