This four-line stanza is a continuation of the merman’s prophecy in the preceding stanza and may be considered its concluding statement. It is followed by the words: þá lét Hjörleifr kóngr hann utan borðs ‘Then king Hjǫrleifr put him overboard’.
The stanza is again highly irregular metrically, and Þó munu ‘Still will’ of l. 1 is extrametrical.
