The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Það er upphaf að þessari sögu að Haraldur kóngur hinn
hárfagri réð fyrir Noregi. Í þann tíma hafði sá maður forræði
fyrir Naumudölum er Þorgnýr hét. Hann átti tvo sonu og hét
Þórólfur hinn eldri en Þorsteinn hinn yngri. Þeir uxu upp með
föður sínum þar til er þeir voru frumvaxta. Þeir voru ólíkir
í skaplyndi. Þórólfur var mjög við alþýðuskap, vitur maður og
forsjáll, vinsæll og gerðist kaupmaður og fór landa í milli
og þótti hinn besti drengur. Hann var ekki mikill maður og
vel á sig kominn, vænn að áliti. Þorsteinn var óvær við
alþýðu, mikill vexti. Hann byggði eldahús og fékk mikið
ástleysi af föður og móður og öllum frændum sínum en Þórólfur
fékk því meiri virðing sem hann flutti meira heim. Þorsteinn
var því leiðari föður sínum sem hann fágaði þá iðn lengur og
ei vildi Þorgnýr láta hann sinn son kalla.

Fór nú svo þar til sem þeir voru rosknir menn. Þá var
Þorsteinn svo mikill að hann lá milli setstokka sem hann var
langur til. Öskuhaugur var á aðra hönd honum en eldur á aðra
hönd og féllu menn um fætur honum.
