The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Ólafur Haraldsson var þá tólf vetra gamall er hann steig á herskip fyrsta sinn. Ásta móðir hans fékk til Hrana er kallaður var konungsfóstri til forráða fyrir liðinu og í för með Ólafi því að Hrani hafði oft áður verið í víking. Þá er Ólafur tók við liði og skipum þá gáfu liðsmenn honum konungsnafn svo sem siðvenja var til að herkonungar, þeir er í víking voru, er þeir voru konungbornir, þá báru þeir konungsnafn þegar þótt þeir sætu eigi að löndum. Hrani sat við stýrihömlu. Því segja sumir menn að Ólafur væri háseti en hann var þó konungur yfir liðinu. Þeir héldu austur með landinu og fyrst til Danmerkur.

Svo segir Óttar svarti er hann orti um Ólaf konung:

Ungr hrastu á vit vengis,
vígrakkr konungr, blakki,
þú hefir dýrum þrek, dreyra
Danmarkar, þig vandan.
Varð nýtlegust norðan,
nú ert ríkr af hvöt slíkri,
frá eg til þess er fóruð,
för þín, konungr, gerva.
