The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Prestur sá er söng á Ryðjökli, það er við vatnið, bauð þeim jarli til veislu og að koma þar að kyndilmessu. Jarl hét förinni, þótti það gott að hafa þar tíðir. Reru þeir þannug yfir vatnið um kveldið fyrir messudaginn. En prestur sá hafði annað ráð með höndum. Hann sendi menn að bera njósn þeim Ólafi um farar Erlings. Hann gaf þeim Erlingi sterkan drykk um kveldið og lét allmjög drekka. En er jarl fór að sofa þá voru rekkjur þeirra búnar í veislustofunni. En er þeir höfðu litla hríð sofið vaknaði jarl og spurði ef þá mundi vera óttusöngsmál. Presturinn sagði að lítið var af nótt, bað þá sofa í ró.

Jarl svarar: "Mart dreymir mig í nótt og illa sef eg."

Hann sofnaði síðan.

Annað sinn vaknaði hann og bað prest upp standa og syngja tíðir. Prestur bað jarl sofa, sagði að þá var mið nótt. Lagðist jarl niður og svaf litla hríð og hljóp upp og bað menn sína klæðast. Þeir gerðu svo og tóku vopn sín, gengu til kirkju og lögðu úti vopnin meðan prestur söng óttusönginn.
