Ólafur, sonur Guðbrands Skafhöggssonar og sonur Maríu
Eysteinsdóttur konungs Magnússonar, var að fóstri með Sigurði
agnhött á Upplöndum. En er Erlingur var í Danmörk þá hófu
þeir fóstrar flokk, Ólafur og Sigurður, og réðust til margir
Upplendingar. Var þar Ólafur til konungs tekinn. Þeir fóru
með flokkinn um Upplönd en stundum í Víkina, stundum austur á
Markir. Ekki voru þeir á skipum.
En er Erlingur jarl spurði til flokks þessa þá fór hann liði
sínu í Víkina og var á skipum um sumarið og um haustið í Ósló
og veitti þar um jólin. Hann lét halda njósnum upp á landið
til flokksins og fór sjálfur upp á land að leita þeirra og
með honum Ormur konungsbróðir. En er þeir komu til vatns þess
er heitir ... þá tóku þeir skip öll þau er voru við vatnið.
