Haraldur konungur sat þann vetur eftir Nissarorustu í Ósló.
Um haustið er liðið kom sunnan þá var mikil umræða og frásögn
um orustu þá er verið hafði um haustið fyrir Nissi. Þóttist
hver sá er þar hafði verið nokkuð kunna að segja frá.
Það var eitt sinn að menn nokkurir sátu í undirskemmu einni
og drukku og voru allmálgir. Þeir ræddu um Nissarorustu og
það með hverjir þaðan höfðu borið orðstír mestan.
Þeir urðu allir á eitt sáttir að engi maður hefði þar slíkur
verið sem Hákon jarl: "Hann var vopndjarfastur og hann var
kænstur og hann var gæfumestur og það varð allt að mestu liði
er hann gerði og hann vann sigurinn."
Haraldur konungur var þar úti í garðinum og talaði við menn
nokkura.
Síðan gekk hann fyrir skemmudyrnar og mælti: "Hákon mundi hér
nú hver heita vilja," og gekk leið sína.
