Haraldur Eiríksson var þá höfðingi yfir þeim bræðrum eftir
fall Gamla. Þeir bræður höfðu þar her mikinn haft sunnan af
Danmörku. Þar voru þá í liði með þeim móðurbræður þeirra,
Eyvindur skreyja og Álfur askmaður. Þeir voru sterkir menn og
hraustir og hinir mestu manndrápamenn. Eiríkssynir héldu
skipum sínum til eyjarinnar og gengu á land upp og fylktu. Og
er svo sagt að eigi væri minni liðsmunur en sex menn mundu
vera um einn, að Eiríkssynir mundu fjölmennari.
