[All]: At this point, the poet has ‘come down close to the whale’, so to speak (see Note to st. 2/1-4), and the remainder of the poem focuses on the family of the Oddaverjar. He also reverts to the style of st. 1, with concatenations of non-verbal elements obliterating the helmingr boundaries (e.g. allra helzt ‘above all’ (l. 5); cf. sts 1/5 and 68/7).
