[5] askr (m.) ‘ash’: The word is a term for ‘ashen spear-shaft’, which probably was misinterpreted as a heiti for ‘sword’. It is also listed in Þul Viðar 2/4, Þul Skipa 1/4 and Þul Hesta 4/4.
