MUFI: The Medieval Unicode Font Initiative 2. MUFI character recommendation 1. MUFI character recommendations 3. Code-point allocation for v. 4.0 of the MUFI character recommendation

3. Code-point allocation for v. 4.0 of the MUFI character recommendation

This is not currently part of the peer-reviewed material of the project. Do not cite as a research publication.

At the MUFI group meeting in Bergen 7–8 April 2011, a number of characters in the pipeline discussed for inclusion in the next version (4.0) of the MUFI character recommendation. They have been listed below, divided into four major categories.

Note that the majority of characters can be handled with OpenType functionality and thus will not receive separate codepoints (section 2 below).

The characters on this list are precomposed characters, and should therefore be rendered by Opentype functionality. This means that each glyph must be drawn by the font designer, but that they will be accessed by substitution rules in an Opentype font (otf.), not by specific code points. Furthermore, this means that the characters on this list will not be available in a Truetype font (.ttf).
