5. Recovering data

This is not currently part of the peer-reviewed material of the project. Do not cite as a research publication.

All changes to the database are recorded in two ways:

An entry in the 'log' table is created recording the editor, affected row(s) or table(s) and the code which was run to perform the change. You can view your changes by looking at the 'log' table. You can usually recover a deleted entry by finding the relevant log entry, selecting it and then clicking on the 'restore' link.

Individual fields are saved to the 'archive' table; earlier versions of the field can be recovered by clicking on the label for the field in the normal editing forms.
