text and translation

Heyrið það, er heilug Máría
hjálpargladdan Jésúm kvaddi:
‘Skjöldungr, lát mig skilja aldri,
skýja hauðrs, við þig lífs nie dauðan.
Er það vón, að unni eg meira
eingietnum syni Kristi hreinum

‘Hear that with which holy Mary greeted salvation-cheered Jesus: ‘Lord of the land of clouds [SKY/HEAVEN > = God (= Christ)], let me never part from you alive or dead. It is to be expected, that I should love my only-begotten son, the pure Christ, more than those women who bear their children in sins with sorrow and torment.’

notes and context

The content of this st. is mirrored in a lengthy speech by Mary in Mar (1871, 1007).
