Skiljast þeir nú, ok ferr Böðvarr leið sína, til þess at hann
kom til Gautlands, ok var Þórir konungr hundsfótr eigi heima.
Þeir váru menn svá líkir, at hvárigan mátti þekkja frá öðrum,
ok ætluðu landsmenn, at Þórir mundi heim kominn, ok er hann
þar settr í hásæti ok þónat jafnt sem konungi at öllum hlutum
ok skipat í rekkju hjá drottningu, því at Þórir var kvángaðr.
Böðvarr vill eigi liggja undir þeiri blæju, sem hún hefir.
Þetta þótti henni undarligt, því at hún hugði þat sannliga
bónda sinn, en Böðvarr sagði henni allt, hvernig háttat er.
Hún lét þá ekki á sér finna. Ok svá breyttu þau hverja nótt
ok skröfuðust svá við, fram til þess Þórir kom heim, ok verða
menn þá at þekkja, hverr maðrinn er. Verðr þá fagnaðarfundr
með þeim bræðrum. Segir Þórir, at engum mundi hann svá öðrum
trúa at byggja næri drottningu sinni.

Þórir bauð honum þar at vera ok hafa til helminga við hann
allt lausafé. Böðvarr kveðst eigi vilja þat. Þórir bauð honum
þá at fara með sem hann vildi eða fá honum lið. Eigi vildi
hann þat. Reið Böðvarr á burt, ok fór Þórir á leið með honum,
ok skilja þeir bræðr með vináttu ok þó með leynd nokkurri. Ok
er ekki sagt af ferðum hans, fyrr en hann kemr fram í Danmörk
ok þar til hann á skammt til Hleiðargarðs.
