[8] Hjarrandi: Hjarrandi was the father of Heðinn (see Note to st. 45 [All]). Hjarrandi is also a heiti for Óðinn, however, and it is unclear whether Hjarrandi as Heðinn’s father is secondary in the Old Norse versions of the story (he is not mentioned by Saxo).
