The number in brackets is the expected number of citations for each genre for the article, if the citations for this word were evenly distributed according to the total number of citations. In other words, if a genre represents 20% of the total corpus, and the article has 100 citations, the expected citation count would be 20. If there are significantly more citations than the expected number (measured, for example, by applying a chi-square test), one could argue that the word is over-represented for that particular genre. (It should be remembered that the excerpting of citations was done manually, however.)
