Folginn liggr, hinns fylgðu
(flestr vissi þat) mestar
dæðir, dolga Þrúðar
draugr í þeimsi haugi;
munat reið-Viðurr ráða
rógstarkr í Danmǫrku
Vandils jǫrmungrundar
ørgrandari landi.

(En kriger, der havde de störste bedrifter at opvise - det vidste alle - ligger begravet i denne höj; aldrig vil nogen retskafnere søfarer, stærk i kamp, råde for land i Danmark.)
