Vann Róms gǫtu        ræsir Þrœnda
fœti farna,        sás frama drýgði.
Sótti síðan        ok synðum hrauð
hers oddviti        helga dóma.

Ræsir Þrœnda, sás drýgði frama, vann farna gǫtu Róms fœti. Síðan sótti oddviti hers helga dóma ok hrauð synðum.

The ruler of the Þrœndir [NORWEGIAN KING = Sigurðr], who increased his honour, travelled the road to Rome on foot. Then the leader of the army visited holy shrines and expiated his sins.
