Anon Lil 96VII/5 — Þá ‘Then’

Inn krossfesti, kraftr inn hæsti,
Kristr, er fjórir broddar nistu,
þier býð eg og þinni móður
þetta verk, er í einn stað settag.
Þá látið mig þessa njóta
þraungskorðaðra kvæðisorða,
er þið sjáið mig öllu varða,
öndin mín að forðiz pínu.

Inn krossfesti, kraftr inn hæsti, Kristr, er fjórir broddar nistu, eg býð þier og móður þinni þetta verk, er settag í einn stað. Þá látið mig njóta þessa þraungskorðaðra kvæðisorða, er þið sjáið mig öllu varða, að öndin mín forðiz pínu.

You crucified one, highest power, Christ, whom four nails pierced, I offer to you and your mother this work, which I have assembled in one place. Then let me be helped by these tightly-set words of poetry, when you two see that it means everything to me, that my soul be spared torment.
