Anon Lil 85VII/5 — hjartans ‘of the heart’

Muntu þetta, inn dýri drottinn,
djöfla sveitum nökkuð veita
mína önd að meiða og skeina,
Máríu barn, og hjálpir varna?
Heitu og rauðu hjartans blóði
hana leystir, og því má eg treysta;

Would you, the dear Lord, perhaps permit this to bands of devils, to harm and wound my soul, child of Mary [= Christ], and withold assistance? With warm and red blood of the heart, [you] freed it, and in this I must have confidence in your love, Jesus, [you] who summoned all men to life from death.
