Anon Lil 79VII/6 — kvaldr ‘tormented’

Fyrirlátið mier, faðir hinn sæti,
fyrirlátið mier! Eg vil gráta
orð og hugsan allar gjörðir
auðmjúkligast og firraz dauða.
Því lýt eg nú þier að fótum
þraungdr og kvaldr af mæðing taldri;
klökkur, hræddr eg þurfa þykkjumz
þína vægð í nauðum mínum.

Fyrirlátið mier, faðir hinn sæti, fyrirlátið mier! Eg vil auðmjúkligast gráta allar gjörðir, orð og hugsan og firraz dauða. Því lýt eg nú að fótum þier, þraungdr og kvaldr af taldri mæðing; klökkur, hræddr þykkjumz eg í nauðum mínum þurfa vægð þína.

Forgive me, sweet Father, forgive me! I will most humbly bewail all my deeds, words and thoughts, and avoid death. Therefore I bow down now at your feet, oppressed and tormented by the trouble I have told; contrite, afraid, I feel in my distress that I need your compassion.
