Anon Lil 44VII/8 — aldri ‘never’

Sonr Máríu, sonr inn dýri,
sonr menniligr guðs og hennar,
kenndu mier að forðaz fjandann
fjölkunnigan, en þier að unna.
Sie þier dýrð með sannri prýði,
sunginn heiðr af öllum tungum
eilífliga með sigri og sælu;
sæmd og vald það minkaz aldri.

Sonr Máríu, inn dýri sonr, menniligr sonr guðs og hennar, kenndu mier að forðaz fjölkunnigan fjandann, en að unna þier. Sie þier dýrð með sannri prýði. heiðr sunginn af öllum tungum, eilífliga með sigri og sælu; sæmd og það vald minkaz aldri.

Son of Mary [= Christ], the precious son, human son of God and her [= Christ], teach me to avoid the clever enemy, and to love you. Let there be to you glory with true beauty, honour sung from all tongues, eternally with victory and blessing; honour and that power will never be diminished.
