ESk Hardr II 4II/3 — Hveðn ‘Ven’

Vann valgrennir
viðr ráfiðris
Hveðnnǫðru
hroðit vápnboða.
Flugu framliga
— fekk svanbekkjar
snarr sólþverrir
sigr — falvigrar.

Vápnboða valgrennir vann hroðit hánǫðru ráfiðris viðr Hveðn. Falvigrar flugu framliga; snarr svanbekkjar sólþverrir fekk sigr.

The feeder of the falcon of the weapon-wave [(lit. ‘falcon-feeder of the weapon-wave’) BLOOD > RAVEN/EAGLE > WARRIOR] cleared the tall adder of the sailyard-feather [SAIL > SHIP] off Ven. Shafted spears flew powerfully; the brave diminisher of the sun of the swan-bench [(lit. ‘sun-diminisher of the swan-bench’) SEA > GOLD > GENEROUS MAN] gained victory.
