Anon Sól 49VII/5 — *

Sinna verka        nýtr seggja hverr;
        sæll er sá, sem gótt gerir;
auði frá        * mér ætluð var
        sandi orpin sæng.

Seggja hverr nýtr verka sinna; sæll er sá, sem gótt gerir; frá auði var * mér ætluð sæng orpin sandi.

Every man benefits from his deeds; fortunate is he who does good; away from riches there was intended for me a bed heaped up with sand.

[5] * mér: ek mér 166bˣ, er mér papp15ˣ, 738ˣ, 214ˣ, 1441ˣ, 10575ˣ, 2797ˣ

[5] mér ‘for me’: All mss but two add an unnecessary rel. er before mér; 166bˣ and one other have ek ‘I’, probably an error in abbreviation.
