Anon Sól 41VII/2 — svá

Sól ek sá;        svá þótti mér,
        sem ek sæja á göfgan guð;
henni ek laut        hinzta sinni
        aldaheimi í.

Ek sá sól; svá þótti mér, sem ek sæja á göfgan guð; ek laut henni hinzta sinni í aldaheimi.

I saw the sun; it seemed to me as if I were looking at worshipful God; I bowed to it for the last time in the world of men.
