Anon Sól 21VII/4 — létuz ‘they pretended’

Grið hann þeim seldi        af góðum hug,
        en þeir hétu honum gulli í gegn;
sáttir létuz,        meðan saman drukku,
        en þó kómu flærðir fram.

Hann seldi þeim grið af góðum hug, en þeir hétu honum gulli í gegn; sáttir létuz, meðan saman drukku, en þó kómu flærðir fram.

He offered them a truce with a good intention, and they promised him gold in exchange; they pretended to be reconciled while they drank together, but yet falsehoods emerged.
