Anon Sól 12VII/2 — mey ‘girl’

Hvárskis þeir gáðu        fyr þá hvítu mey
        leiks né ljóssa daga;
engan hlut        máttu þeir annan muna
        en þat ljósa lík.

Þeir gáðu hvárskis, leiks né ljóssa daga, fyr þá hvítu mey; þeir máttu engan annan hlut muna en þat ljósa lík.

They paid no heed to anything, neither sport nor the radiant days, because of the shining girl; they could think about no other thing than that radiant body.
