Anon Mv I 12VII/7 — brátt ‘soon’

Frændr af frúinnar grandi
fregna mannsins vegna;
fljóðið fult af stríði
fanga þeir með angri.
Kvöl var silki-Sólu
sett að dómi riettum;
brátt skal bálið heita
brenna líkama hennar.

Frændr mannsins vegna fregna af grandi frúinnar; með angri fanga þeir fljóðið, fult af stríði. Kvöl var sett silki-Sólu að riettum dómi; brátt skal bálið heita brenna líkama hennar.

The relatives of the slain man learn about the lady’s atrocity; with grief they capture the woman, filled with sorrow. Torment was stipulated for the silk-Sól <goddess> [WOMAN] according to correct judgement; soon the hot fire must burn her body.

[7] brátt: ‘[...]tt’ 721, ‘...rt’ 1032ˣ

[7] brátt ‘soon’: The first three letters are torn off in 721. The <b> is ensured by the alliteration.
