Anon Mgr 51VII/2 — kvæði ‘poem’

Bið eg þig, Kristr, og blessuð móðir,
bæði ykkr, að þetta kvæði
launið mier, er lífi týnig;
lærifaðirinn, statt þá næri.
Ítr, leittu mig, Jésús dróttinn,
undan hörðum djöfla fundi
— mun eg þá kjósa mærðar launin —
mína sál í gæzku þína.

Eg bið þig, Kristr, og blessuð móðir, ykkr bæði, að launið mier þetta kvæði, er týnig lífi; lærifaðirinn, statt næri þá. Ítr dróttinn Jésús, leittu mig undan hörðum fundi djöfla, sál mína í gæzku þína; þá mun eg kjósa launin mærðar.

I ask you, Christ, and blessed mother, you both, that you reward me for this poem, when I lose my life; teacher, stand nearby then. Magnificent Lord Jesus, lead me away from the harsh meeting with devils, my soul into your goodness; then I may choose the rewards for my praise-poem.
