Anon Mgr 45VII/7 — ágætri ‘famous’

‘Guð stie upp af grýttu láði
gæzkufimr á bjarta himna;
lofaður sitr um aldr og æfi
eilífr á veg skepnu deilir.
Ítarligr kom mier á móti
minn son guð með allri sinni
hirð ágætri himna dýrðar;
* hóf mig upp á sínum lófa.

‘Gæzkufimr guð stie upp af grýttu láði á bjarta himna; eilífr, lofaður deilir skepnu sitr um aldr og æfi á veg. Ítarligr son minn, guð, kom á móti mier með allri sinni ágætri hirð dýrðar himna; * hóf mig upp á lófa sínum.

‘Merciful [lit. goodness-deft] God ascended from the graveled ground into the bright heavens; the eternal, praised ordainer of creation [= God (= Christ)] sits forever and ever in glory. My magnificent son, God, came to meet me with all his famous retinue of the splendour of the heavens [ANGELS]; he lifted me up in his palm.
