Anon Mgr 41VII/3 — þegnar ‘men’

Mána strandar munki einum
móðir birti dróttins fróðum
fagnaði sína fimm, er þegnar
frægðarsvinnir jafnan minnaz.
Líkn og hjálp tók lýðs að reikna
lyndishrein með gleði og yndi
þýð og mild fyrir þessum bróður;

The mother of the lord of the moon’s beach [SKY/HEAVEN > = God (= Christ) > = Mary] revealed her five joys to one wise monk, as fame-wise men always recall. The mercy and salvation of people [= Mary], pure of mind, kind and gentle, began to count with joy and pleasure before this brother; [she] describes this, who puts an end to evil.
