Anon Mgr 4VII/2 — fögrum ‘fair’

Alloft beiddi inn elskufulli

Very often the loving Augustine, filled with wisdom, asked Mary, fairer and more famous than anything, with fair prayers, that she should reveal herself. He wanted to be able to explain to people the truth about her grief, that which she received when the lord of the heavens [= God (= Christ)] suffered distress and torment until death.
