Anon Mey 60VII/3 —  ‘for’

Frú Máría, frumtígn meyja,
firrðu, þá er vier liggjum stirðir
seldir framm synda gjaldi,
sálir várar heitu báli.
Veittu oss, er vafðir drottin
várn græðara reifaklæðum,
þína hjálp í blíðum bænum,
blómið sælt, að liðnum dómi.

Frú Máría, frumtígn meyja, firrðu várar sálir heitu báli, þá er vier liggjum stirðir, seldir framm gjaldi synda. Veittu oss, sælt blómið, er vafðir drottin, várn græðara, reifaklæðum, þína hjálp í blíðum bænum að liðnum dómi.

Lady Mary, supreme dignity of maidens, rescue our souls from the hot fire, when we lie stiff, delivered up for the repayment of sins. You, blessed flower, who wrapped the Lord, our Saviour, in swaddling clothes, grant us your help in gentle prayers when the Judgement has come.
