Anon Mey 32VII/3 — járni ‘iron’

Lietti upp hendr og lofaði drottin;
lagði þá með grimdarbragði
Aspásíus járni hvössu
ungri mey í barka stungið.
Faðir hennar sem frændr og móðir
frú blíðasta grófu síðan;
yfirprísandi endalausan
Agnes þiggr af drottni fagnað.

Lietti upp hendr og lofaði drottin; Aspásíus lagði þá með grimdarbragði stungið hvössu járni í barka ungri mey. Faðir hennar sem frændr og móðir grófu síðan blíðasta frú; Agnes, yfirprísandi, þiggr endalausan fagnað af drottni.

She raised her arms and praised the Lord; Aspásius then in a savage manner thrust the sharp iron into the throat of the young maiden. Her father as well as her kinsmen and mother then buried the very gentle maiden; Agnes, deserving great praise, receives endless joy from the Lord.
