Ynnilig berr allra kvinna
æru og prís af drottni skærum
Máría sjálf, er meyjum stýrir
móðurliga og öllu góðu.

Hinn hreini drottinn, láttu nú hátt og form hefjaz til stefja þinnar mæðr og hennar hirðar hreinlífastra mektarvífa. Ynnilig Máría, er móðurliga stýrir meyjum og öllu góðu, berr sjálf æru og prís allra kvinna af skærum drottni.

Pure Lord, let now the metre and form rise to refrains [in honour] of your mother and of her troop of most chaste women of might. The beloved Mary, who, motherly, rules over maidens and everything good, herself has honour and praise over all women from the bright Lord.
