Kálf Kátr 47VII/7 — hilmi ‘king’

Heita vil eg á himna gæti
hræddr og skelfdur, að mín græddi
andar sár, því eg hefi bundið
yndi mitt við fúlar syndir.
Dýra bið eg döglings móður
dæmistóls sem heims og sólar
árnaðarorðs við hilmi hlýrna
háleitan fyr minni sálu.

Hræddr og skelfdur vil eg heita á gæti himna, að græddi mín sár andar, því eg hefi bundið yndi mitt við fúlar syndir. Eg bið dýra móður döglings dæmistóls sem heims og sólar árnaðarorðs fyr minni sálu við háleitan hilmi hlýrna.

Afraid and trembling, I want to call upon the guardian of heaven [= God] that he may heal my wounds of the soul, because I have taken pleasure in foul sins. I ask the glorious mother of the king of the judgement seat as well as of the world and the sun [= God (= Christ) > = Mary] for a word of intercession for my soul with the sublime king of heavenly bodies [= God (= Christ)].
